Kathmandu. In the global market, both BYD and Tesla have recently reduced their electric vehicle (EV) prices, leading Korean automotive companies to also slash prices on their electric offerings.
Notably, Korean automaker Kia has cut the price of its flagship EV, the EV9, by up to $7,500. Following this trend, Hyundai, another major Korean player, has also announced price reductions for its new generation Kona EV.
Hyundai’s move includes a significant 7,500 discount on the Kona Electric for the American market in 2024. As a result, the starting price for the Kona Electric SE now stands at 26,550, down from its previous price of 34,050.
The Kona Electric SE model boasts a powerful 100-kilowatt electric motor and a 48.6-kilowatt-hour battery pack, providing a confirmed range of 375 kilometers according to WLTP standards.
Hyundai’s recent launch of the revamped Kona EV showcases a sleek exterior design inspired by the Ionic 5. Equipped with a 48.6-kilowatt liquid-cooled battery pack, this model supports fast charging speeds of up to 100 kilowatts, allowing for a quick charge from 10% to 80% in just 45 minutes.
